Green racing will be back at the TT this year but the people who organised it in 2009 won’t.  TTXGP, the set-up headed by Azhar Hussein, have got the push. Instead it’ll be the Dept of Tourism and Leisure who promote the zero-emissions race. Don’t yet know what’s behind this but it’s probably significant that the DTL is only putting on one single-lap race this year when Azhar Hussain had been planning two races, one over one lap and one over two.  Race is on Wed June 9th at 4.30pm. It’s now called TT Zero.

Welcome to my TT & MGP blog!

Hi. This is my new blog. The plan is to blog about things to do with the famous TT and Manx Grand Prix motorcycle races, held annually on the Isle of Man. Since 2004 I’ve been lead commentator for Manx Radio’s coverage of both events.  Before taking over the mic for Manx Radio I reported the races for BBC TV for over 10 years.

What you can expect is all sorts of chat about the races, the bikes, the people, the history, hopefully a few laughs, quite possibly a dash of controversy, and also some insights into what my job involves. Please join in and add comments, and let’s make this a blog which brings together all sorts of people who love the greatest road races in the world.
