The contrast between the media operations of the TT and BSB is interesting. The TT media people are very pro-active, openly encouraging journalists to come to the island and see the event for themselves. BSB, in my experience this season, are exactly the reverse – negative and discouraging.  I suppose that says something about the two events. The TT has always had to fight against negative press, something it has done with considerable assurance and success since the Centenary year. They know that the best way to get non TT folk to enjoy the event is to persuade them actually to come and see for themselves. BSB has never had to counter negative coverage so perhaps they think they don’t need to bother.  But you never know when you might need friends in the media and BSB’s attitude might come back to haunt them one day.
